Kom je van ver? Hou er dan rekening mee dat Antwerpen moeilijk bereikbaar is door de vele wegenwerken. Kom bij voorkeur met het openbaar vervoer.

Breng je identiteitskaart of paspoort mee.

Breng schrijfgerief mee en een papieren woordenboek in je eigen taal. Digitale woordenboeken zijn niet toegestaan.
Voor welk examen schrijf ik me best in?
Onze ervaring is dat veel mensen zich inschrijven zonder zich goed te informeren over de examens of zonder goed na te denken over hun keuze - en bijgevolg niet slagen. Het CNaVT biedt vijf examens voor mensen die Nederlands als Vreemde Taal leren. De examens toetsen talig functioneren op vier verschillende niveaus. Elk examen is bovendien geplaatst in een specifiek domein (maatschappelijk, educatief of professioneel) en heeft aparte doelstellingen. Het zijn profielexamens: elk examen komt overeen met een bepaald taalprofiel. Ze komen ook overeen met een Europees taalniveau (ERK), maar kies vooral een examen dat bij jouw profiel past:

Zakelijk professioneel (PROF) – B2
Educatief Startbekwaam (STRT) – B2

Het examen

Het examen bestaat uit drie delen:

A. Luisteren/schrijven

B. Lezen/schrijven

C. Spreken.

Het gedeelte spreken wordt door ons afgenomen en opgenomen. De audiobestanden en examens worden naar de KU Leuven gestuurd voor beoordeling. Bij deel C mag je geen woordenboek gebruiken.

LABS is een erkend examencentrum voor CNaVT. Alle examens - voor alle examencentra, nationaal en wereldwijd - worden centraal gecorrigeerd en beoordeeld door het CTO.

De voorbereiding
Iedereen kan bij ons het examen komen afleggen.
Je kunt je volledig zelfstandig voorbereiden op het examen (klik hier voor meer informatie) of je kunt je bij ons inschrijven voor individuele begeleiding. De prijs is € 60,50 per uur, voor meer informatie kun je ons contacteren via school@la-bs.be.
De resultaten
De resultaten worden door het CTO/KULeuven per post bekendgemaakt. Zorg bij het inschrijven dus dat je jouw eigen adres opgeeft (en niet dat van een verblijfplaats of gastgezin) zodat je een paar maanden later de resultaten per post zeker ontvangt.
Enkele tips
- Schrijf je niet in voor het professionele examen als je geen professionele ervaring hebt in je moedertaal.
- Doe het examen startbekwaam niet als je ook in je moedertaal niet aan de universiteit zou gaan studeren.
- Doe het examen B1 niet als je op deze pagina de Engelse vertaling nodig hebt om het Nederlands te begrijpen of als je via e-mail met ons communiceert in het Engels.
- Ben je jonger dan 18 jaar? Dan raden we alleen informeel en formeel aan.
- De examens PROF en EDUP zijn moeilijk haalbaar als je grammatica niet quasi perfect is.

Are you coming from far? Keep in mind that Antwerp is difficult to reach due to the many road works. Preferably come by train, the train station being at just a 10-minute walk from the school.

Be sure to bring your identity card or passport.

Bring along a pen and a paper dictionary in your own language. Digital dictionaries are not allowed.
Which exam should I take?
In our experience, many students enrol for an exam without knowing beforehand what the different exams exactly stand for or without the necessary assessment of their specific needs - causing a mismatch and/or fail regarding. The CNaVT offers five exams for whom wants to learn Dutch as a foreign language. The exams evaluate linguistic functioning on four different levels. Moreover, every exam is situated against a specific (societal, educational or professional) domain and has separate goals. Every exam corresponds with a specific linguistic profile, rather than just a certain proficiency level. They are each matched with a European language level (CEFR), but we strongly suggest that you choose a level that fits your linguistic profile:

About the exam

The exam consists of three parts:

A. Listening/writing

B. Reading/writing

C. Speaking.

The latter part, speaking, is conducted and recorded by our personnel. The audio files, enclosed with the rest of the exam, are sent to the KU Leuven (University of Leuven) to be assessed by their services. For part C, the use of a dictionary is not allowed.

LABS is a recognized exam centre for organizing the CNaVT exam. All exams - for all CNaVT centres, nationally and worldwide - are assessed and graded by the CTO.

Preparation
Everyone can take the CNaVT exam at our school.
You can prepare for the exam on your own (click here for more information) or you can contact us to help you get prepared. LABS can coach you individually through the preparation process. The price for private coaching by LABS is € 60,50 per hour, contact us for further information by sending an e-mail to school@la-bs.be.
Results
The results will be communicated by (land) mail by the CTO/KULeuven, who grade the tests centrally. Make sure you enrol with your own address (and not that of a temporary residence or host family) so that you are sure to receive your results in the mail a few months after taking the test.
A few pointers
- You should only select the 'professional' exam if you have professional experience in your mother tongue.
- Don't take the exam 'startbekwaam' if your mother tongue proficiency wouldn't allow you to attend university in your own language.
- Don't select the B1 level if you need the English translation on this page or if you communicate with us in English over email. To qualify for the B1 exam, you should be able to write up a rather simple email.
- If you're under 18, probably only 'informeel' and 'informeel' are within reach.
- The PROF and EDUP exams really are only within reach if your Dutch grammar is close to perfect.
